****A VIAGEM MENTAL COM CHUCKMATRIX CLIP**** ****A MENTAL JOURNEY WITH CHUCKMATRIX CLIP****

ChuckMatrix,  American from New Jersey, a graphic designer, a self taught person, passionate by Second life building tools is our chosen artist this week.

His sculptures reach our emotion for its beauty and refinement of details and the interesting thing is that the artist works primarily with the tools provided by the SL, he still doesn`t use 3D modeling programs. When it is absolutely necessary he buy some specific pieces to complete some of his creations.
Even though he plans to learn modeling in mesh (a new way to model, freer and more flexible) Chuck prefers to remain loyal to his roots, there where the art of SL actually born and thus predominantly use the tools provided by Second Life. Perhaps the "Last of the Mohicans."

Chuck`s art works are quite complex, the themes chosen by the artist are deep; his  inspiration navigate through their life experiences from early childhood ,through adolescence and maturity till situations that impact greatly humanity, such as world wars and terrorist attacks. Explores in depth all facets of his personality - the dark side and also illuminated side - and courageously revealing his intimacy. We can see well through his art, the artist's soul.

Good reasons keep ChuckMatrix in SL, one of them is his art, noting that the creation is undoubtedly a fantastic therapeutic process. LOVE also smiled for the artist in the metaverse that brought him there someone who gives emotional support, encouragement and inspiration, a muse. And to complete, exploring spaces reconstructing real cities, sample arts, live music in SL also exert a fascination over the artist.

ChuckMatrix  is also an artist in real life, including features on the second floor of his virtual gallery a sample of these works, which presents works in pen and ink but as a graphic designer he focuses much on digital media. The Inspiration for digital drawings and sculptures is the same, but with a different interpretations, so sometimes he rather work in 2D instead of making a sculptures.

ChuckMatrix today present one of his work - The Scent of Her - in UWA , a virtual representation of the University of West Australia and has his personal gallery - :: CMC :: Designs Gallery - where the artist presents a significant collection of sculptures and images.

We invite everyone to check the art works of this interesting  artist who takes us to a world beyond the physical and virtual, he takes us on a journey to a mental world.

EM SEUS OLHOS - IN HER EYES

"Puck.  Precisamos conversar".

Puck engoliu a seco.

"Então?" a Baronesa perguntou impacientemente.

"E?" Ela balançou a cabeça interrogativamente.

Puck colocou mentalmente  as mãos no rosto.

Puck balançou a cabeça confirmando.

"Certamente", Puck repetiu. Ele podia sentir a mágica, é claro. Bem rudimentar. Nada realmente prejudicial.

"Você ouviu as notícias?

Ele riu e  saiu correndo.

In Second Life there are also those who use their creativity to create stories and live on top of these stories as if they were artists of a movie. Many dramas and comedies are created and experienced by a group of residents who .... "plays online " - known as RPG (Role Playing Games) players.

And it is from this world that I present merlin.oddfellow.

I invite you to read the story created especially for this blog, from this dear and creative writer and artist - Merlin Corey.

IN HER EYES
By Merlin Corey

Italy, June 1496

Florence. The City of God, or so they said. In the crowded streets, the dominant colors are dark brown, grey and black. Whoever would dare flaunting an inch of purple scarf would probably be arrested. Or stoned by some angry preachers. But even below their modest attire, Florentines are still as proud. The Almighty is with them, and no others, their ruler Friar Savonarola told them. And the Florentines believed in him, for now.

Puck looked at the street and scowled. Through the window of the Palazzo he could see the Piazza Vecchia and the colorless crowd. Nothing much to make fun of. Fortunately, the palace itself was preserved from the prevailing gloom. In the Baroness' estate, joy was required, at least behind the heavy velvet drapes. In the official meeting halls, servants and guards showed off the expected colorlessness with care and zeal. The Baroness herself was an example : always wearing black, with a small touch of white sometimes, even though the quality of the fabrics and the silver linings were a display of both wealth and taste.

The Baroness didn't wear black with modesty, Puck knew that for sure. She just loved it. She once told him that it was the best way to direct all the attention to her eyes. She was wrong, of course. Even the brightest colors couldn't have distracted anyone from the two pale gems illuminating her face. Her features weren't extraordinary, even though she could be labeled as beautiful. Her lips were quirked in a nearly permanent half smirk, a way for her to disclose her amusement at the world. But her eyes could have been labeled as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, as well as Cleopatra's nose. Although Cleopatra didn't have such a big nose, Puck remembered.

Puck quit staring through the window and decided to go downstairs. Maybe there would be a chamber maid or a butler he could test one of his last pranks on. Or maybe the Baroness was in the mood for some fun and they'd start playing endless melodies from the old times. But the Baroness wasn't around. The butlers and chamber maids knew better and tried to avoid Puck as much as they could without looking rude to their Mistress's favorite jester. Only two servants were in the main hall, and they were busy hanging up a painting. Even Puck wouldn't dare risking an accident involving this specific piece of art. The Baroness would have his head cut and use his skull as a chamber pot.  He pats his forehead, trying to chase off the smelly image.

Puck glanced at the painting. The brightness of the Baroness' eyes was eerie, even on canvas. Only a Master could have rendered it, unless magic had been used to enhance the result. Puck didn't know, and didn't ask. Despite his innate curiousity, he would never try to spy on the Baroness private matters. "Chamber pot", he reminded himself with a shiver.

Puck scurried along to the kitchen. The smell was much better than his previous thoughts. Crisp capons, stuffed swans, boiled beef,  pickled pork, baked breads of all sorts, the flavors engineered there were pieces of art intended to make the dullest palates melt. Puck looked around, trying to spot every chef, cook, undercook, assistant, dishwasher, janitor or anyone else could see him. When he was sure to be stealthy enough, he stole a roasted chicken's leg and a couple of cupcakes and discreetly tiptoed away.

Puck was still munching on his last cupcake when the Baroness went down the stairs. She looked at the painting. "Two inches on the left", she ordered the servants. Her voice was so soft and calm that anyone who doesn't know the Baroness would make the fatal mistake of thinking she was actually a nice person. The servants knew better, and they carefully moved the painting of exactly the distance she asked.

"A little more to the left", she ordered. She was obeyed on the spot. Then she looked around, and spotted Puck, despite the fact he was hiding behind a sofa. "Puck. We need to talk".

Puck gulped. He was used to powerful creatures, but the Baroness terrorized him sometimes. Especially when she had that ice cold tone hidden under a blanked of softness. "Yes, My Lady", he answered obediently, darting towards her.

"Tonight's party". Only two words. She was a fervent adept of going straight to the point.

Puck was in a cold sweat about tonight's party already. What could have gone wrong ? The menu was to her liking. The musicians were her local favorites. The rooms had been prepared strictly according to her instructions. The guest list had been... Puck stops and starts thinking even faster.

"So ?" the Baroness asked impatiently.

"Err.. Sir Nicholas Flamel said he'd be here". He was certain that the company of the French Alchemist, presumably dead since 80 years, would entertain the Baroness.

"And ?" she nodded interrogatively

"His Highness the Prince of Valachia will attend too", Puck tried to reassure her. There was a small uncertainty about Vlad Tepes' attendance. He was quite paranoid since his assassination, twenty years ago.

"And ?" the Baroness repeated in a tone that made Puck's bang freeze on his forhead.
Puck mentally facepalmed. Now he knew what the issue really was. "We had no news from Sir Luke, but I am sure that if he had any type of setback he would have informed us", he tried to sound more self-confident than he actually was.

"I would be very disappointed if he wasn't around", the Baroness mentioned casually, before walking away.

Puck sighed. He shouldn't have taken this job, but it was a way for him to stay out of his beloved Britain for a bit. He needed the break. Besides, trying to marry two girls the same month wasn't exactly a good idea. Especially when he found out that they were both students of the same Witch, and that said Witch had barely no sense of humour when her pupils were concerned. This little vacation in Tuscany was quite welcome, but after 20 years, he was thinking of going back home. He sighed again.

"I see you got the portrait delivered". The voice in his back made Puck jump.
"I... I was just mentioning your name to the Baroness", Puck muttered.

"My name, really ?" the man was quite tall, slender but well built, walking with the true grace only noblemen and martial artists truely master.

Puck was looking at the man's boots. Not that he was looking for clues about his whereabouts by analyzing the mud on the shoes, but he would never dare looking in the gentleman's emerald eyes. No matter how powerful he was, Puck wasn't a fool.  "Yes... I mean, we were mentioning your presence at tonight's party", he corrected himself.

"I said I'd attend. Here I am", the man chuckled.

"Of course", Puck smiled. "The Baroness will be delighted to see you".

"I am sure she will", the man chuckled again, eyes still on the painting on the wall. "Whose work is this. Leonardo ?" he wondered.

"No. Il Maestro is still in Milano, and we couldn't convince him to come back to Florence. Not in the current political situation, you understand, I am sure", Puck explained.

"I had to wear a monk's frock to pass the main gates, so yes, I understand", the man smiled wryly. "So, who did this ?"

"I don't know", Puck admitted. He didn't like that. He wasn't used to NOT know something.

"The eyes are quite bright", the man commented.

"Puck nodded. "Indeed, they are. Like the Baroness', if I may say"..

The man laughed. "Except that you can look into these without any danger. Although some magic has been used on the painting", he noticed casually.

"Indeed", Puck repeated. He could feel the magic, of course. Quite primitive. Nothing really harmful. But it explained the eyes' nearly hypnotic glow.

"Uncle Luke !" The voice came from upstairs, with a laughter as musical as a waterfall during summer time. The Baroness sometimes had adolescent manners. She ran down the stairs and jumped into the man's arms, hugging him tightly. "I missed you so much", she whispered.

An outside observer would have noticed that "Uncle Luke" looked about the same age as the Baroness, who looked like a very young woman. But Puck wouldn't care. Age didn't matter to his kind. Nor to the Baroness or her Uncle. Of course, nobody in the house would mention this point. Not in "God's City".

"I see you got your portrait", Sir Luke smiled at the Baroness.

"It is a good likeness, don't you think ?" she nodded with a shameless smile.

"I would very much like to know why you need to have such magic in your main entrance hall", Luke kept smiling, but his emerald eyes were sharp.

"Did you hear the news ? Those who control Florence are eager to get rid of the vice, as they say. Not exactly compatible with our lifestyle. With this portrait hanging here, I make sure that those who enter will see only what I wish them to see", the Baroness had a mischevious smile.

Puck giggled silently. Lifestyle. Of course. He couldn't understand how humans of this age had so many taboos. The Baroness was living a healthy life, with lots of fun. Food, drinks, and even some smoke coming from Orient, dances, theater plays, concerts, and of course, all the pleasures of the flesh were willingly offered in this house. At least, for those accepted as guests of the Baroness.

"If it is a way to keep this house peaceful, then I understand, and I approve", Sir Luke smiled warmly at the Baroness. He then took a small box out of his jacket and handed it to her. "Happy birthday, Dana".

The Baroness yelped with joy and grabbed the box. She struggled to open the lock, looked inside the box, and turned white as a ghost. For the first time in 20 years, Puck saw the Baroness speechless.

"Is it...?" she asked faintly

"Yes", he answers, his emerald eyes locked into hers.Emerald and Sapphire, Puck thought, looking at the two. And then he understood.
"Happy birthday, Dana", Sir Luke repeated.

"Thank you... Father", the Baroness smiled brightly, taking the huge emerald out of the box, and passing its chain around her neck.

"Puck, you never saw that", Sir Luke frowned at him.

"Of course not", Puck protested, while the two were walking away, probably to have a little talk before the festivities. Puck looked up at the painting. It was really a nice painting. And a good opportunity to party. It's not every day that a woman reaches her first millenia. And Sir Lucifer looked so proud of his daughter. Puck shrugged. It was time to prepare some pranks, the guests were going to be there soon. He chuckled and scurried away.

***** CANTANDO O AMOR NO SECOND LIFE ***** *****SINGING LOVE IN SECOND LIFE*****

This week I want to give tribute to someone very special:  my only son, both in real life and in Second Life - Daniel.  He is travelling by himself to meet his father in Moscow.  He is the one who taught me the meaning of a new, unutterably deep and genuine form of love, like none life has ever presented me with before.

Studying a bit about this issue with my doctor, Dr Julius, I discovered that there is a scale comprised of the various forms of love.  I now present it to you in a simple form. Of course it would be impossible to detail every level of love presented here, but I invite everyone to go deeper into the matter and find the thread to better understand and improve your own life as it pertains to this subject.

While this took place in real life, in SL  we decided (Cullum, Zorro, Karlos, Izza, Suham, July and Lucienne) to enjoy some live music.

We decided to go to  Warung Beats (a musical space that belongs to my friend PValenca Slade) assured that Ursula Cinquenti (the manager) would show us a good time, because I know how very efficient she is and every Sunday she chooses and organizes several SL concerts with live musicians.

I was very pleased to find her along with musician BRIGHT OH, who greeted me with his affectionate "BOO" .. I was happy to know that he would be performing because I have already been appreciating his work for some time.  After a few moments, he started singing and talking gently to the audience.
BRIGHT is Australian composer, artist, singer, guitarist and producer, as he says, "in that order of preference." He was one of the components of the group SOAR (Charles Somerset, Brigh Oh and Rhode Experiment) which performed together until early 2012. Now Bright keeps performing his shows in a solo career, featuring his songs and the music of the group he belonged to.

The artist caught even more of my attention when I read in his blog: .... " When I was younger I believed in only one kind of love. Now I believe there are many types of emotions and feelings that count as love. Each is proof of the reach and power of love. Each is valid and true, beautiful and tender, sincere and long lasting."
Bright`s statement confirmed the new things i've learned about love, which I have been studying in order to develop my abilities to understand people better and increase my capacity to love.

And more, Bright also has a project called 20 Love Songs, which features songs that represent each of the different levels of that most desired feeling by all ... LOVE.

I am leaving in here the link for Bright Oh`s sites, and offer my son one of his songs.
